How is Rice Genie Cooker different from other rice cooking methods?
The uniquely designed Dual Action Cover features the special Foam Control insert which cuts through and collects the majority of foam produced when boiling rice, preventing it from overflowing.
Any excess foam and moisture is redirected to the top cover’s reservoir , where it is released back through the dedicated holes into the base and your rice. At the same time, the specially designed vents ensure efficient steam release and no pressure build up.

How do I use Rice Genie?
1. Just add rice or grains and water. Your Rice Genie comes with a handy guide to help with the rice to water ratio!
2. The cooking time is comparable to traditional methods, but you don't need to monitor it while cooking.
3. The rice turns out perfectly cooked, fluffy, and stays moist.
4. The microwave stays clean since there's no water overflow during cooking due to the intelligent dual action cover.
5. Fill the Rice Cooker with rice first, then add water, ensuring you do not exceed the maximum fill line.
6. Position the separator insert on the base with the rimmed side facing up.
7. Align the lid handles with the handles on the side of the base and close it.
8. Fold down and "click" the lid handles onto the base handles to lock them in place.
9. Pop in the microwave for the time given on your rice packet.
10. Save time not waiting for the pan to boil!
What are the cooking instructions?
Your Tupperware Rice Genie comes with a handy guide on how to cook your perfect rice, and advice on the perfect water to rice ratio.
1. Refer to the rice cooking measurement table in the guide provided with your Rice Genie.
2. Adjust the timing and water level based on the type of grain, microwave power, and desired moisture level.
3. Do not surpass these amounts to prevent boiling over. Adhere to the maximum fill line.
4. Simply add the grains first and then pour in the cold water.
5. Refer to the diagram on the cover insert for proper assembly.
6. Ensure the top cover is securely closed by locking the side handles.
7. Rinse the rice unless the packaging specifies otherwise.
8. When cooking with salt, add 2-4 minutes to the cooking time for each teaspoon of salt.
9. Let the cooked rice sit for 5 minutes before serving.
10. Fluff the rice after cooking.
Is cooking in the Rice Genie quicker and more convenient than cooking rice in a pan?
Yes! You’ll save time on not having to wait for the pan of water to boil or having to constantly monitor the pan and stir. Simply follow the cooking time on your rice packet and use the same time in the microwave. You may want to adjust it depending on your microwave wattage. Do I need to rinse the rice before adding it to the Rice Genie?
Yes, we advise to rinse the rice prior to cooking.
Do I add boiled water to the rice prior to cooking?
No, simply add cold water to the rice in the Rice Genie, unless stated otherwise on the packaging
Can I add salt to the rice prior to cooking?
Yes, but add 2-4 additional minutes of cooking time for one teaspoon of salt
What can I cook in the Rice Genie?

Can I add oil etc to the water prior to cooking?
Do not add any fat or oil in the water, or use liquid with fat content such as milk or coconut milk
Can I add spices etc. to the rice in the Rice Genie?
We don’t advise adding tomato concentrate, saffron, curry or other coloured spices to avoid staining. Staining will not affect the performance of the product and is not covered by the Tupperware guarantee
Which way up does the white foam control insert go on the base?
With the two tabs facing up, please refer to the drawing on the cover insert for the correct assembly
How do I attach the lid?
Before closing the cover, make sure the handles of the cover are perfectly aligned with the handles of the base. Press the cover downwards to close.
How long should I cook the rice/grains for?
Please refer to the handy chart included in your instruction manual. The timing and water level should be adjusted according to grain type, microwave power setting and desired moisture.
How do I take the lid off the Rice Genie?
Push both handles down at the same time and the lid will pop off (please note the lid may be hot, please use oven gloves when removing from the microwave).
Can I use a standard spoon or a fork to fluff and serve the rice?
Avoid using abrasive or sharp utensils as this may scratch the base of the Rice Genie.
